Before my husband was fitted with his appliance for sleep apnea, he was sleeping as he thought was good. However, I heard him snoring so loud besides him tossing and turning many times in the middle of the night. He would get up still very tired. I noticed his mood swings. My husband needed a nap every day to get him through until dinner was served. After Dr. Seltzer fitted him with his sleep appliance, I saw the difference almost immediately. He has not tossed and turned all night since. He gets a restful night sleep. My husband's snoring has stopped and I even see the difference in his personality. This appliance was very easy to learn how to use. Dr. Seltzer's assistant showed him how to put it in his mouth. It was so easy to get used to. I highly recommend Dr. Seltzer to anyone who is in need of this apparatus.
i came to my original appointment with some anxiety and an undeniable level of cynicism. My experience was immediately shifted by the welcoming/efficient greeting i got by the front desk. The process for getting my oral appliance was made comfortable throughout by the thorough and considerate manner in which i was treated. there was total patience and incredibly high level of professionalism both in content and demeanor. And, the results were beyond what i could have imagined. i am thrilled. This office is awesome!
I am a Plastic Surgeon with a mild apnea problem but a big snoring problem. Dr. Seltzer and his wonderful staff were able to fit me for the proper appliance in one visit and install it on the next. It's been three weeks now and working like a charm. My wife is very impressed! The staff was very professional, patient and informative. I highly recommend the office.
Dr. Seltzer and his staff welcomed me and solved my Sleep Apena problem with an Oral Appliance. I now sleep better, wake up refreshed and have more energy all day. I am very grateful and highly recommend Dr. Seltzer because I trust him and know I'm in the best hands.
Late 50s with a snoring problem. Dr. Seltzer took the time to figure out the solution and solved my problem with an appliance called SomnoMed or something. Took 3 days to get used to it. Had not slept through the night in 20 years at least. Now I sleep deeply, longer and the bruise on my ribs is gone which tells me that my wife is sleeping better too. The bedside manner and care is unusually good. Dr. Seltzer rocks!
Dr. Seltzer did a great job of explaining the options for sleep apnea, scheduling follow-ups, and making adjustments as necessary. He was generous with his time and was happy to answer questions and address concerns. The oral appliance he chose for me has been very effective in treating my sleep apnea and minimizing my snoring.
I was diagnosed with ostructive sleep apnea, and Dr. Seltzer made a dental appliance to help me with the condition. If I fall asleep at night without it, my wife reminds me the next day why I'm especially tired. She also tells me how it is the best present I've given her (a night without a symphony of snoring, choking, and gagging).
Came in for a sleep appliance struggled for years searched to find the right place to help me and who would take my insurance. I searched online and found Dr Seltzer who is a very patient and detailed oriented compassionate doctor. He answered all my questions, scheduled as many appointments as I needed until I felt comfortable. He reassured me during the whole process and was determined to satisfy my need for quality sleep. His attention to details was remarkable and their kind and efficient staff made a difficult process go smoothly. I can now say I am sleeping comfortably in an appliance that is custom made to fit all my needs thanks to Dr Seltzer and Long Island Smile!
Started using Dr. Seltzer when my spouse went there for a sleep appliance. He evaluated my mouth and found that I had many problems, gum and older crowns that were not placed properly. He carefully planned out my dental treatment which also involved a periodontist and an endodontist and a dental surgeon. A former dentist tried to play superman and just kept giving me antibiotics which caused much bone loss and several abscesses. After 4 months under Dr. Seltzer's care, I have five new beautiful crowns that fit, an upper tooth that he and the periodontist saved and a back upper removal with an implant in progress. No more infection, no more bad breath and I smile with confidence. Although I'm in my 60's, I've learned how to properly care for my teeth and use his dental hygienist. I've never felt better in years. When you find a competent dentist such as Dr. Seltzer, it's a gift in life. Will keep coming back!
Dr. Seltzer fixed my sleeping and snoring problems.
My son is 27 years old and has Down's Syndrome. His entire life he has suffered with difficulty breathing while asleep. His night time snoring and gasping for air frightened my wife and I and left him constantly exhausted. After several ENT evaluations and failed tolerance for CPAP, we had given up hope that he would ever sleep more than a few hours at a time. Our family dentist, Dr Neal Seltzer, suggested our son try an oral appliance. This simple device changed our son's life dramatically. The first weekend he used the oral appliance he slept solidly through the entire night. One night he actually slept 11 hours straight. He has become alert in the mornings and he physically looks better as he no longer has dark circles under his eyes. His entire demeanor has improved and he has found a new level of energy. I am writing this with the hope that this remarkable treatment may help other people with Down's Syndrome who suffered as our son once did.
I first met Dr. Seltzer in 1998. I was referred to him by my pulmonologist who suggested I try an oral appliance for my sleep apnea since I could not tolerate the CPAP machine. I immediately adapted to the oral appliance. It was easy to wear and has served me well for over 11 years. I have been back to Dr. Seltzer only a few times over that time period for simple adjustments. The original appliance is still holding up well with some minor signs of wear and tear. Its worked so well in fact this year I decided to have Dr. Seltzer make me another appliance as a back-up. I just don't want to take a chance of being without one.
I have sleep apnea and was very concerned for my health. I tried several CPAP machines and many mask designs. All were unsuccessful in helping me sleep. I haven't slept well in over 4 years. The masks, hoses, air pressure and machine noises kept waking me. This also made life miserable for my husband. Finally, after switching to a new pulmonologist, I was directed to Dr Neal Seltzer, a dentist, who made me a custom oral appliance that is too good to be true. Not only has it worked, but it has been a pleasure to not have to deal with the inconveniences and cost of maintaining the CPAP. Over the years I spent hundreds of dollars and wasted prescious time changing masks, hoses, water, and filters to properly keep the CPAP clean. The simple upkeep of the oral appliance alone makes it worth while. A recent trip to Greece was the icing on the cake as I did not have to drag a CPAP with me, worry about electricity issues, or worry about sleeping on the plane. I woke up every day rested to enjoy my vacation. Thank you Dr Seltzer.
I am a 69 year old man and have a problem with sleep apnea. To help this problem, I had surgery for a deviated septum and was using CPAP to no avail. Eventually, I gave up until a friend told me about an oral appliance. I asked my pulmonologist about one and she referred me to Dr. Neal Seltzer, a dentist, who made me an oral appliance. Now I am finally sleeping better and getting my energy back.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, I would like to thank you for the excellent care you provided. When I came to your office I could not sleep. Several times during the night I would wake up startled because I needed air. My husband was very worried about me. I walked around tired all the time. I tried the CPAP machine but I could not tolerate the contraption. I was desperate by the time I came to you. I did not think a dental appliance would do the trick. I was so wrong. The results were outstanding. It was so easy to get used to it. I think that by the second night the appliance and I were best friends! THIS APPLIANCE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. I sleep well and my husband said I don't snore or stop breathing. Thank you for making this possible and please feel free to use my name with anyone who is hesitant to try this option.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, The oral appliance you made me for my sleep apnea has really helped. As a pilot for large container ships navigating the Atlantic Ocean and Eastern seaboard of the U.S., I rely on being at my best at all times. My apnea was threatening my ability to do my job. Now,as long as I wear the appliance I am well rested and completely alert to do my job. Thank you for saving my career.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, I am writing this letter as a testament to the unbelievable success of the device you made for me. I used to be exhausted all the time. I am no longer exhausted and my quality of life has improved. It was truly an investment in my health and well being.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, I suffer from SEVERE obstructive sleep apnea . In 1999, I underwent surgery (UPPP) in an attempt to correct this problem, unfortunately, the surgical procedure was not successful. I subsequently visited your office and you fitted me with an oral appliance which not only eliminated my heavy snoring but also allowed for a full and restful sleep without the characteristic cessation of breathing normally seen in sleep apnea patients and the constant awakening during the night.I would like to thank you for introducing me to this therapeutic modality. I would gladly recommend the same for fellow sufferers.

Dear Dr. Seltzer I just wanted to let you know how much the dental appliance you gave me has helped. After my totally frustrating experience with the CPAP machine( I had tried several styles of masks) the dental appliance seems too good to be true. I wake up refreshed and since I don't snore anymore the level of domestic tranquility in my house has reached an all time high. Best of all, getting used to the appliance was no problem at all. I benefitted from it from day one.
Dear Dr. Seltzer I wish to express my appreciation for the dental device which has dramatically diminished my problem with sleep apnea. I woke with vision and vigor and my quality of life has substantially improved. I unconditionally endorse this device and the dentist who treated me.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, Thank you so much for helping my husband and I both get a good night's sleep again. The snoring sounds he was making were keeping me awake. The gasping was frightening. As a fellow dentist, he was finding it hard to see a full day of patients since he was always tired. Wearing the oral appliance made all the difference. I highly recommend this treatment to any and all who may need it.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, I am writing this letter to help you get the word out to any potential patient who may be a candidate for an oral appliance to treat theitr sleep apnea and snoring. I have a high pressure career that requires that I be at the top of my game every day. The oral appliance was so helpful in enabling me get a restful sleep and stay alert at work that I had a second one made as a back up.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, I was snoring in my sleep and this was causing issues with my wife. I was constantly tired and this was affecting my job . I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea and fitted for a CPAP machine which I could not tolerate. I was fortunate to have been referred to your office for an oral appliance. This appliance has given me back my life. I can now think clearly at work and my marriage is also benefitting.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, My mother suffers from sleep apnea. The choking sounds she was making at night in her sleep were making me very worried. She could not tolerate the CPAP mask and she was terrified to have surgey. Fortunately we were referred to your office and fitted for a dental device. This was the solution. It was easy for her to wear and no more horrible choking in her sleep. Thank you so much.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, I just wanted to thank you for giving me back the ability to sleep well again. The oral device you made for me is truly remarkable. I live in Maryland and researched alternative treatments for my sleep apnea and snoring. I was told that I could only be treated with surgery or a cpap. I was fearful to try surgery and the cpap never was comfortable. One day I was speaking to my uncle, who lives on Long Island, about my problem. He told me he had read in Newsday, the Long Island newspaper, that you were having success using oral appliances for this problem. I could not find anyone near my home who knew about oral appliances. Well, several phone calls and trips to Long Island later, I am writing this to thank you and to help you get the word out about this great treatment option.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, WOW!! What a difference this has made for me and my wife. We both sleep. I dont wake up from the gasping and she is happy with the quiet. Thanks for the help.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, As a person in the medical field, I am fully aware of the consequences of obstructive sleep apnea. So, after I was diagnosed with this affliction I suffered through surgey to try to eleviate it permanently. However, the surgery was not successful. Fortunately, I came to you for dental treatment and was informed about oral appliance therapy. After wearing one for only a short time, my symptoms are now gone. I only wish I had found this treatment option earlier.
Dear Dr. Seltzer, I recently found out that I suffered from sleep apnea. I was a heavy snorer and went to my doctor to investigate options to treat my snoring. He sent me for a sleep study. The results were frightening. Not only did I snore but I also stopped breathing almost 30 times an hour. I was told that this could affect my heart and I immediately was put on the CPAP machine which helped but I found very difficult to tolerate. My pulmonologist suggested I see you for an oral appliance. Well, this was a remarkable find as I had no problem tolerating it and it helped me eliminate both my snoring and apnea. I hope more people find out about this procedure.
