Welcome to Dental Center of Carrollton. This center was founded by Dr. Betsy Ayers to provide healthy treatments for patients suffering from Snoring and/or Sleep Apnea.
Dr. Betsy Styles Ayers completed her undergraduate training at the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. While there she was active as an officer in Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. She received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine Degree from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and has been practicing dentistry in Carrollton since 1990.
Dedicated to her profession, Dr. Ayers continues to enhance her dental training specifically in the areas of Dental Reconstruction and Rehabilitation using Implants, Cosmetic Dentistry, Invisalign Invisible "Braces", and Dental Sleep Medicine, by attending Advanced Continuing Education courses hosted throughout the United States.
If you snore, have excessive daytime sleepiness, or have been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and are having difficulty utilizing CPAP, Dr. Ayers and her staff at the Dental Center of Carrollton can help. Their staff is specially trained in working with Sleep Apnea patients and will work closely with your physician as part of the medical team in your diagnosis, treatment and on-going care. To stop snoring or treat Sleep Apnea, oral Appliances are placed in the mouth and are worn much like a sports mouth protector or mouth guard. Worn during sleep to prevent the collapse of the tongue and soft tissues in the back of the throat, oral appliances promote adequate air intake and help to provide normal sleep in people who snore and have Sleep Apnea.
In addition, her practice has the skill and technology to design an Oral Appliance/mouth piece that fits right, is properly adjusted for maximum benefit, and causes the least amount of discomfort and inconvenience for you, the patient.
Dr. Ayers is active in organized dentistry. She is a member of the Georgia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Georgia Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Ayers is committed to providing excellent dentistry in the most gentle caring environment possible. She is married to Jeff Ayers and they have one son, Tayler. Dr. Ayers enjoys the outdoors, horseback riding, skiing, travel, fishing, tennis, and most spectator sports.
